Last week, the employees at Fort Construction celebrated National Boss’s Day. For many, this day of recognition incurs some eye rolls. After all, in some cases, the boss is the one who doles out all the work and enjoys all the perks … and now we’re supposed to celebrate them?
At Fort, we were happy to recognize our bosses: Scott Price and Ken Evans.
No eye rolls around here either. Instead, we ordered a box of Tiff’s Treats and had them delivered along with a heartfelt note from all of us.
Because Scott and Ken genuinely care about our company, and all of the employees, it feels like a family. It’s a place where our contributions and ideas are valued, and we feel that every day.
It should come as no surprise that both Scott and Ken are terrific role models of leadership. They are not afraid to do tasks that are not in their job description. One day they may be on a job site, or sweeping and straightening the office, or participating in a finance meeting. There is no “us” and “them” at our company. We are all in this together, and we’re working hard to create a successful construction company that we can be proud of. And we are.
So Happy National Boss’s Day to the best bosses anyone could ask for. We look forward to another year of hard work, fun and growth!
