Looking at the nation as a whole, did you know construction started on over 524 million square feet of office, retail, warehouse, and industrial space last year? In Texas, we led the country in warehouse and retail development. Only California had more office development.
Amazingly, there was more than $24 billion in direct construction spending in the Lone Star State. The sector supported just under 380,000 jobs, and contributed almost $59 billion to the economy.
