Magazine Monday

Just another Magazine Monday!  Ok, that may not be a thing, but it sounds good, and it’s hard not to read it in the famous ‘Manic Monday’ tune by The Bangles.  You know you did!

We were stoked when we saw our project, Fort Worth Camera, featured in not one, but TWO, industry magazines: Tilt-Up Today and Texas Architect.  We partnered with the wonderful, Bart Shaw, FAIA, of Ibanez Shaw Architecture, who designed and created this project.  The aperture wall has been the most recognized feature of the project, and arguably so.  The prominent wall began as a security function of the building to ensure cars wouldn’t crash into the glass storefront alongside Montgomery street.  However, the design quickly transformed into a feature wall representing camera apertures at various sizes, which later became Fort Worth Camera’s new logo.

This project was fun for us in that it offered many challenges between the size and location of the site to the coordination of the crane and equipment to erect the panels while not shutting down Montgomery, a highly trafficked street. We are extremely proud of the outcome and finished product.  The building is quickly becoming a landmark in Fort Worth, and we love that we were able to make Fort Worth Camera and Bart Shaw’s visions a reality!
