Think back to when you were in Middle School and High School, how would you like to have spent your spare time fishing and be able to put it on your resume as an extracurricular activity?! Clubs and organizations sure have come a long way, and Fort Construction is thrilled to be a sponsor for the Carroll Bass Team!
Newly formed this year and beginning their first season on August 19th, the organization will consist of two teams: The Boat Team, 9th-12th grade, and The Club Team, 7th – 12th grade. The Boat team will compete at 6 THSBA (Texas High School Bass Association) area lake events against other schools in the metroplex division, while The Club Team will fish at ponds, creeks, lake shore, etc. while competing against one another in monthly app-based tournaments. (Nature and Technology…what more could kids want?)
While it is not an official UIL sport (yet), the organization will adhere to UIL standards and will fall under Carroll ISD supervision. While there is a competitive nature to the organization, their true purpose and mission is to grow the love for the sport of angling, and instill a respect for nature, wildlife, and the environment, while promoting academic excellence, encouraging community outreach and providing a safe and supportive experience for its members.
The Carroll Bass Team is off to a great start and has received great interest from the students. We highly recommend everyone to help sponsor and invest in these kiddos in order to continue their growth and success!
