Last Saturday, the All Saints Health Foundation held their annual Beyond the Bag, an event that raises critical funds for the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center.
The event was held at The 4Eleven, one of Fort Worth’s newest event venues – and one of Fort Construction’s projects! A fantastic array of food was catered by Bonnell’s, along with drinks, silent and live auctions. DFW Lexus Dealers, Sewell Lexus of Fort Worth, and Park Place Lexus Grapevine joined forces to donate a gorgeous 2018 Lexus RC that was raffled off at the event.
This is such an important event in our community. Over the past six years, Beyond the Bag has raised a total of $1.7 million for breast and gynecological cancer services. Beyond the Bag proceeds assist the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center in providing navigation, counseling, support, education and guidance to individuals and family members as they walk through their cancer journey.
Fort has a very personal connection to this topic and this event. Not only did Ken Evans (one of our Partners) attend the event, his wife Kristi is a survivor and lay navigator at the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center. Kristi gave her personal testimony about her experience with JKCRC during her own battle with breast cancer – allowing everyone to understand the value and impact of this center.
We would like to thank everyone who attended, who bought a raffle ticket, and bid on an auction item. Cancer diagnoses are all too common in our lives, and we are thankful to the staff and volunteers at the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center for their hard work and dedication.
