Fort Construction is pleased to announce that Martin Moad is our new CFO.
I got to know Martin while we served on the board of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Fort Worth. One day at lunch, he mentioned he was a bit bored with retirement and wanted to find something with a small, private company.
As I drank my iced tea, the wheels started turning, and I told him we were looking to strengthen our financial area at Fort. The rest, as they say, is history – and Martin started working with us in June.
Martin was born and raised in Fort Worth. He graduated from Amon Carter Riverside High School and obtained his accounting degree from Stephen F. Austin. A few years after that, he received his CPA certificate.
He’s been married to Judy for 21 years, and he has a son, Martin, who is also an accountant working in Houston.
Martin spent 34 years with the Tandy/Radio Shack Corporation, serving in various accounting and financial roles, including Investor Relations Officer, Treasurer, and Corporate Controller.
He and Judy are big hockey fans. If he doesn’t answer your call, he may be at a Dallas Stars game. If he’s not sitting next to a frozen sheet of ice, he enjoys playing golf, fishing and working in his woodworking shop.
We are so fortunate to have Martin on board with us. If you have the chance, be sure and welcome him to Fort, and back to the working world!
